Exploring Devon and Cornwall!

Hey Guys!

It's no secret that I absolutely love travelling and seeing new places. It's really good to have a few days away now
and then to have a change of routine.

I spent a few days stopping in Plymouth which isn't somewhere I had been before. I love Plymouth as there is something for everyone and you're never lost for something to do. We went to the top of the lighthouse which was a great experience but I was to busy trying not to fall down the stairs to get some good photos!

We stopped at the New Continental which was a great hotel and it made a change for the beds to be comfy! However, on the last night we did find out it was haunted which put us all a bit on edge. Look at them creepy corridors!

We also went to Looe which was lovely! I loved all the little houses which were on the hill and it was a warm day so we all had a great time on the beach.

I think this seagull wanted some of our Ice Cream!

Overall it was a lovely break away! I'd definitely love to go back soon!

Party in the car park

Hey Guys!

So firstly I want to apologise for not posting yesterday, I haven't been feeling great for the last couple of days so haven't felt like blogging.
I may also stick to blogging daily instead of every day. I've seen in blogger chats that it can be damaging and that you can loose interest and I don't want that to happen! Blogging should always be a hobby, never a chore.

Anyway, I went to party in the car park recently which is held in a local pub car park near me. It's a great day where local bands perform and there's also a BBQ and stalls.

I didn't have the BBQ as I didn't feel like eating too much but I really enjoyed listening to the music throughout the day.

I left a little early as it did start raining but luckily it was lovely weather for the majority of the day!

We did of course, have to make dad have the pink umbrella. He didn't seem to mind too much.

A reflective post

Hey Guys!

So yesterday was quite a hectic day! I got my GCSE results.
School hadn’t been an easy ride; in Year 8 I had a lot of time off after suffering complications following an operation. I lost a lot of confidence at that point and struggled to fit back in to routine. It was something that all my teachers were aware off and a lot of them did their very best to support me.

I wasn’t expecting brilliant grades; I’d always been an average student and had never got an A in anything. I was shocked when I opened the paper to find that I had achieved 2 A’s, 2 B’s, 2 C’s and 2 D’s.

What got to me most however was how pleased my teachers seemed to be for me. I panicked so much that I had messed up my English exam but ended up coming out with an A which I would have never of expected. After I finished the exam I went to speak to my teacher as I was worried I would fail, she was concerned but I could tell she didn’t want to make me panic any more than I already was.

Several teachers came and congratulated me, saying how proud they were after what I had overcome. That meant a lot. I felt as though I was appreciated, that someone believed in me. It was something that I rarely saw.

After results I bounced around the house for a bit before letting family and friends know the good news! It turned out they were all anxious to hear the results, I never realised how much support I had.

I decided right there and then that this was a fresh start. Over the years certain people have put me down and let’s just say it didn’t make me feel great. However, after yesterday I’ve learnt that those kinds of people don’t matter. I need to stop thinking that I can’t achieve anything just because one or two people are of that opinion. There are a lot of people that do believe in me, they have done all along and want to see me achieve.

I hope that I can come back and read this post whenever someone puts me down, I hope it gives me the motivation to think “no, you’re wrong, I can do this” and that I make those around me proud of me.

I hope that everyone got the results they wanted today, I know I did a short post on exams before I got my results so I apologise for that, I just felt that this would be beneficial to me for my own reflection later on.

“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” – Willie Nelson

Thea Skincare Review

Hey Guys!

So I recently had the opportunity to review some products from the Thea Skincare fruit enzyme range. I reviewed a Crème cleanser and Moisturiser. What appealed to me most about Thea Skincare is that all of their products are cruelty free as none of them have been tested on animals.

“This revolutionary new skin brightening range has been scientifically formulated to brighten and revive dull skin using a blend of organic fruit enzyme extracts. Our fruit enzyme formulas gently exfoliate the skin without the need for harsh scrubs, revealing instantly smoother, brighter skin”

I found that the cleanser could quickly remove my makeup. I usually use makeup wipes however I have been looking for a cleanser and was very impressed with this one. I loved the fruity scent of both the moisturiser and the cleanser and left my skin feeling refreshed. A 100ml bottle of the crème cleanser is priced at £21.95.

I was also really impressed with the moisturiser as I felt it left my skin feeling smooth and soft. Although these products are slightly on the more expensive side I think that the price reflects the high quality of the products.  You can find the trial sized (15ml) moisturiser on the Thea Skincare website for £8.95.

Overall I would definitely recommend these products which you can find here

You can also follow Thea Skincare on twitter @theaskincare

Ladies Day At The Races!

Hey Guys!

So at the weekend I went to Ladies Day at Southwell Racecourse. I know that horse racing isn't to everyone's taste and I do completely understand that. My family are very interested in horse racing so I have been going to the races now and then for a few years now.
It was very cold at the weekend and I only had a dress on so was freezing! I had to grab my cardigan from the car and me and mum wrapped ourselves in the picnic blanket, yes, it really was that cold.

After the racing there was a Take That tribute act. It got very rowdy around this point and I have to be honest, I didn't think they were particularly good. We danced around to try and keep as warm as we could but I can't say it helped too much!

I did straighten my hair but by lunchtime you wouldn't have been able to tell! Unfortunately I forgot to bring anything to tie it back with so it kept blowing around in my face. I picked up my dress in the sale at Dorothy Perkins for £10 and the necklace for £3. I think next time I will check the weather forecast beforehand but I will enjoy wearing this dress again on some warmer days!

5 Things That Make Me Happy!

Hey Guys!
Today I've decided to do more of a positive post, as it's nearly time to go back to school and the warm sunny days seem a distant memory I thought we could all do with a little pick me up!

1. Friends

This has to be probably the number one thing that makes me happy, a lot of my friends are really more like sisters. They're always there for me and there have been some pretty difficult times where I've needed them! They never fail to make me laugh and make me feel better and I know I can share pretty much anything with them.

2. Family

Of course family is also hugely important to me, I know that my parents will always be there for me and they are the two people that have seen me at my lowest but never gave up on me. They truly believe in me which is what I love the most about them! They know me better than anyone.

3. Travelling

I love adventure and I love travelling to new places. I've been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places and have been going abroad since I was very young for holidays. I love experiencing new things and discovering new places.

4. Making someone smile

This might sound so cheesy so I apologise for that. I run a charity which sends gifts to children with serious conditions and illnesses and there is no better feeling than knowing that you have made someone's day and made someone smile!

5. Blogging!

Of course, I had to include blogging on the list! Although it does take up a lot of time, I really enjoy having this little space on the internet and it really makes my day when someone takes the time to leave a lovely comment. I've also met so many other lovely bloggers through this and love the blogging community.

This Or That Beauty Tag!

Hey Guys!

So I've seen this style of post going around on a few blogs now and thought it would be a really fun post to do and something a little bit different!

Blush or Bronzer?
I would definitely say Blush just becomes I'm more used to it and so feel more comfortable wearing it.

Lip gloss or Lipstick?
I'm a huge lipstick fan! I just find that lip gloss can be far too sticky which makes it uncomfortable to wear out.

Chapstick or Lip Butter?
Chaptick as it is just plain and simple so creates a perfect everyday look, especially for school.

Matte or Sparkle eyeshadows?
I like wearing matte eyeshadows for everyday wear but do like to add a sparkle eyeshadow when going out.
Gel, liquid, cream or pencil liner?
I've always used pencil but have seen a lot of blog posts recently for liquid ones and so I may have to try one!

Foundation or Concealer?
Foundation

Liquid or Powder foundation?
I find it really hard to get the right shade of liquid foundation so I do like the powder ones.

Neutral or statement eye?
Neutral, I'm not brave enough for statement but would love to try it sometime

Pressed or loose shadows?
Pressed, I find that loose ones are a bit too messy for me!

Waterproof or non-waterproof?
Non-Waterproof!

Brushes, sponges or fingers?
Brushes!

Powder, cream or liquid highlighters?
I prefer to use the liquid highlighters!

Let me know in the comments whether you'd make the same choices or not!

Top 5 Summer Nail Polish's

Hey guys!

So Summer is nearly over (boo) however we do still seem to be having a few sunny days and I am making the most of these! Here are my Top 5 nail Polish's that I've been loving this summer.

1.

This Barry M pink nail Polish is definitely my favourite, I love bright colours, especially pink and find that it does go well with a lot of outfits. I also love the Barry M brand so this is perfect for me.

2.

I picked up this at Next as I wanted to try something different. I did find it a bit trickier to apply but for going out it is great for adding to the 'party' look.

3.

This is another one by Barry M (can you spot a trend here) it is a slightly paler shade but perfect if you want a more simple look.

4.

I have already done a blog post about this one but I had to list it on my Top 5 as I love the colour, it does dry very quickly and is a very reasonable price.

This is one of my older ones, I do find that it does last a long time and doesn't chip easily which is great. It's also a pale shade so is lovely to wear for a simple look.

What colours have you been loving this month?

Exams!

Hey guys!

So I've seen a lot of blog posts and videos recently about getting results and going back to school.
I was trying to delay this post for as long as possible but I know that there is a lot of teenagers that will soon be going back to school and collecting GCSE results.
I think the first thing to remember is that these results don't define you, they don't limit what you will go on to achieve in the future. We all know that there is a lot of successful people that didn't do particularly great at school.
You're probably feeling quite anxious at this point too. You're trying to predict the results you're going to get before you get them and starting to panic. Take some deep breathes, go for a walk and clear your mind. This can help you to see things in a much more positive light.
A further tip that I'd suggest is to avoid Facebook. I know that sounds a bit drastic as most of us have our phones constantly glued to our hand but I've already seen so many people saying how nervous they are and the night before collecting results you don't need the extra worry.
Try and keep busy in the build up to results day as this will help to take your mind of things and give you something to focus on.
Remember that no amount of worrying will change your results, you won't be helping yourself by constantly worrying. However, I am guilty of this myself and know that it is easier said than done.

It's not the end of the world if you don't get the results that you hoped for there will always be other options and things always work out in the end.

Good luck to everyone collecting their results and if you have already collected A-Level results, I hope you got the results you wanted!

Made.com review

Hi Guys!

So I recently had the opportunity to review a lovely picture from made.com after a quick look at all the lovely furniture on their website it was an offer I couldn’t turn down.

The aim of made.com is simply to try and save you money from buying on the high street. This picture is priced at £89 but has a typical high street price of £180 which leaves you with a fantastic saving.

The picture itself is very bright and bold and brings to life the everyday object of a simple egg. It was created by Philip Colbert who is a fashion designer who tends to work with bright, pop-art styles. It is quite a big picture and so does take up a lot of space; however, I found this beneficial in my case because my wall is red and it fitted well with the background of the picture.

We are currently planning to extend our kitchen and so this will look lovely when the work has been completed and add an injection of colour to the room to make it unique. For now though, it sits perfectly in the study and really brightens up the pale wall.

The service of made.com I found was very efficient. The team are very friendly and it is clear they care very much about their business. I was sent a couple of texts letting me know when the picture was going to be delivered and also other options to deliver it on a different day if I wasn’t going to be in.

Please pop over to made.com and let me know your favourite item in the comments!

My top summer shoes!

Hi guys!

So these are a few of shoes that I've been loving this summer, I was running short on good, comfortable shoes and so went on a little shopping spree to find more. I managed to find some pretty good bargains in some of my favourite shops!

1.

I really love these shoes for going out in the evenings, this colour is such a popular summer colour and I think that the little bows add a really cute look and at £10 from Office I simply couldn't resist.

2.

I also bought these lovely toms from office for £25. I've wanted a pair for ages now but could never find a pair that suited me, I love the stripes in these and with the one for one policy that toms have it's good to know that you're also helping someone else.

3.

Now for my favourite pair of beach shoes, I wore these a lot on holiday to Corfu this summer and they were perfect for beach days and also exploring the local area. I usually don't wear laces so it made a nice change. These were another bargain from Primark at £3

4.

These lovely peachy shoes were also from Primark at around £4-£5 I thought these were really pretty everyday shoes and although I didn't particularly need them I couldn't resist picking them up!

Let me know your favourite pair of summer shoes and also what you've been loving this summer.

Smart casual #OOTD

Although It's a bit windy outside still (as you can probably tell by my hair in these photos) I have managed to go out and take some photos! Today I went shopping (there will be a haul post up later) so this post is a little bit delayed but I hope you like it!

My hair is a bit windswept here haha. I don't usually wear blazers but thought that it added a smarter look to the outfit. I found this in the back of my wardrobe as I bought it a good while ago now. I find River Island jeans to be very comfy and one of the few shops where the jeans actually fit. Personally, I like the way that the blazer and the blouse seem to go together. The blouse was slightly too long and looked a bit ridiculous hanging down and so I tucked it in to make it look better with the blazer.

                                                               Blazer - Birdy's Boutique
                                                               Blouse - Primark
                                                               Jeans - River Island
                                                               Shoes - Primark

I got the bracelet on holiday a while ago so can't remember the name of the shop. I hope you like it, please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

REVIEW: Maybelline nail varnish

Morning Guys!

So I recently popped into Boots and picked up this lovely new nail varnish. I've needed a new nail varnish for a while now and I loved the colour of this one. I love bright colours and so this one seemed perfect for a bold summer look.

I found that although I would use these nail varnishes again it tried slightly too quickly and so was a bit difficult to try and get an even coat.

I think all of the Maybelline products are reasonably priced

I picked up a few other pieces from Boots so perhaps I'll be doing a little haul video very soon ;)

Overall, I am pleased with this nail varnish. I usually choose Barry M and think that I do prefer their varnishes slightly more.

Let me know if you've tried these varnishes, what do you think of them? I'm also going shopping tomorrow so let me know of any products I need to be picking up.

Is Summer over!?

Morning guys!

I'm trying to sound as cheery as possible by adding in the '!' but in reality, I'm a little fed up. I really wanted to photograph another OOTD post today after getting a good response from my last post. However, it is raining. This of course is expected as we are in England and it is no secret that it rains at least 80% of the time here, if not more. So instead of venturing out into the rain I will write a short post about the last few days (sorry guys!).

A few days ago I got involved in my very first twitter chat! This was a really great experience and I met so many lovely bloggers from that chat. I will definitely be getting involved with more of these in the future as I think it's a great way to connect with other bloggers.

Yesterday, I popped into town and picked up two new pairs of shoes from Office and some new makeup from Boots, I will probably be featuring the shoes in an outfit post very soon! I also finished the day by treating myself to a Chinese takeaway so overall, it was a really good day.

Today, well it's only just gone 11am so really I've only just got up out of bed and had breakfast. My mum is currently looking through photos from my prom and deciding which ones she wants to display in the living room and which ones she's going to send to family. The neighbours also want to see them and so we'll be popping next door later today too but I think that really is as far as we will be going today, especially in this weather.

Currently, the cat wants feeding and Dad is complaining about how much he's been eating recently (it's not really a recent thing, he's always been greedy) and I'm listening to music on spotify, specifically Ed Sheeran.

Let me know what you are getting up to on this rainy day

REVIEW: Ted Baker - Ready for my close up

Hi!
So I recently tried the Ted Baker - Ready for my close up makeup. Firstly, I thought that the little box that it came in was lovely. I've never tried the Ted Baker makeup range before but have always loved their other products.

I opted to go for the light pink box set which was called Matinee because I thought the other colours would be a bit too dark for a lovely sunny day!

I used a little bit of the blusher (not too much as my skin is quite pale) and also the light brown lip gloss that is joined onto the pinky one.

I did love the colour and would probably use it again. However, I am not someone that would usually go for a lip gloss as I find them too sticky.

I paired this with my grey eyeshadow by No7 which I love, I am running out so I think it might be a trip to the shops today!

I know it can be hard to see eyeshadow with glasses (anyone else with glasses have that problem?) but I still like to put some on as it gives me a little bit more confidence.

Overall, Although I like the colour of the lip gloss I don't think it would be enough to swerve me from my trusty lipstick. I will however be using the blusher again as I have no problems with that.

Let me know what you think is best, do you prefer a lipstick or lip gloss?

Zara Outfit #OOTD

So recently I decided to pop into Zara. This is not a shop that I would usually go into but after picking up a few bargain pieces in the sale I think I will be visiting more often now. One of my favourite finds were these comfy leggings and simple top that I picked up and so I have decided to do a little outfit post on them!

Leggings - Zara Sale - £9.99
Top - Zara Sale - £3.99

I really love how comfy these leggings are, they're perfect for a casual day at home and maybe even a trip to the shops!

Let me know in the comments your favourite shops! :)
